Our mission at Smith Behavioral Health and Wellness, LLC is to assist clients in incorporating lasting change by providing exceptional care, addressing the whole person, and promoting a healthy lifestyle integrating all of the dimensions of wellness (physical, spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual, occupational, environmental, and financial). 

 

In addition, we take great pride and responsibility in training the next generation of therapists that are actively learning to be therapists in their academic programs. We are also dedicated to sharing knowledge with other budding and experienced clinicians through consultation and support.

NUTRITION

While it is not required for clients to take advantage of all of all of nutrition services to see a therapist at SmithBHW, healthy diet is a significant component to good mental and physical health. At Smith Behavioral Health and Wellness you will have access to our Resident Nutritionist, Lesley Shelley. Lesley is knowledgable about how food impacts your mood and what foods will contribute to good physical health and mental health in your wellness journey. EXERCISE AND FITNESS

Research has shown that regular exercise can decrease symptoms of depression and anxiety and in some cases may even be means of prevention, Cohut (2017).   Jessica Thompson serves as our Resident Trainer at Smith Behavioral Health and Wellness.
